Ireland weather: colder conditions on the way with Met Éireann predicting potential frost
by Aine Kenny · RSVP LiveThe weather lately has been relatively warm, with many of us forgoing our usual hats and scarves that would typically be needed at this time of year!

Tonight (Friday) will be mostly cloudy with patchy rain, drizzle and mist, especially in south. Lowest temperatures will be between 8 to 11 degrees, with light to moderate southeasterly winds expected.

Sunday will start off damp and mostly cloudy in the east, with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. The west will experience drier, brighter and cooler conditions which will gradually extend across the country in the afternoon. After a mild and humid start in the east, it will turn fresher. Temperatures will be between 12 to 15 degrees with light westerly breezes.
Sunday night will stay dry with a mix of cloudy and clear spells. However, it will be colder than recent nights with lowest temperatures between 3 to 7 degrees. A few patches of mist and fog could form around dawn.
It's a good start to next week, with Monday being a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunshine. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees are expected.
That night, the dry weather will continue, with a mix of cloudy and clear spells. Lowest temperatures will be between 2 to 6 degrees, with areas of mist and fog thickening towards dawn, and a touch of frost is possible too.
Tuesday will be dry again with a mix of cloudy and sunny spells. However, there will be a chance of isolated showers. Highest temperatures will be between 9 to 12 degrees, with light westerly or variable breezes.
As we head further into the week, high pressure dominates overall, but there are chances of rain or showers at times. Temperatures will be close to the seasonal norm.
