Lebanon’s Hezbollah group confirmed on Saturday that its leader and one of its founders, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut the previous day.

The terror group said Saturday that its leader was killed in a Friday Israeli airstrike, along with another Hezbollah commander and an Iranian general.

Iran announced that Abbas Nilforushan, a general and deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guard, was killed in an airstrike on Friday, along with Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.

Iran announced Saturday that a prominent general in its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard sanctioned by the U.S. died in an airstrike that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

He has led the Lebanon-based group since 1992, taking the reins after Israel assassinated the group's previous leader, Abbas al-Musawi.
