'Big clubs watching' as defender addresses transfer talk after Nottingham Forest scouting mission
by Sarah Clapson · NottinghamshireLiveIn-demand defender Dylan Watret has addressed speculation about his future amid suggestions Nottingham Forest are one of several clubs keeping tabs on him.
The highly-rated Ayr United full-back has caught the eye of potential suitors south of the border with some impressive performances this season. The Reds are among those said to have been alerted to the 18-year-old’s potential.
Forest and Arsenal have both reportedly sent scouts to watch Watret in action, while Manchester United, Aberdeen and Hearts have also been linked with him. The teenager says he is aware of the transfer talk but isn’t letting it go to his head.
“I’ve been told about big clubs watching but I just try to ignore that and focus on my game,” he told the Daily Record. “Whatever comes in the future is for then.
“I just play every game as it comes and don’t look too far ahead. I’ve been here since I was nine years old and it’s all I’ve ever known. The advice is always to take things a game at a time and don’t get too ahead of myself.”

Watret bagged a wonder goal last weekend to clinch a 1-0 win over Airdrie as he thumped the ball in from distance. It was his second strike of what is becoming a breakthrough season as he establishes himself as a regular starter.
Recruiting young talent with the potential to improve has been a key focus for Forest in recent transfer windows. They added the likes of teenager Eric da Silva Moreira and 21-year-old Elliot Anderson to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad in the summer, while young Brazilians Danilo and Murillo were signed in previous windows.
